If you’re feeling overwhelmed, hurting, confused, or just need someone to talk to — you are not alone. All of the organizations listed below specialize in helping teens. You can reach out to any of them confidentially, and even anonymously. Whether you're struggling with school, relationships, mental health, substance use, or if someone is hurting you — please know it’s okay to ask for help.

Maui Youth & Family Services (MYFS)

MYFS provides youth with a safe space to heal. Our caring, experienced staff can help with trauma, challenges related to school, relationships, and other issues, and we offer substance use and mental health counseling. All of our programs are free.

Maui Behavioral Health Resources (MBHR)

MBHR provides therapy, support groups, and crisis intervention services for youth facing emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges. They're dedicated to helping teens feel understood and supported.

YouthLine Hawai‘i

YouthLine Hawai‘i is a youth teen-to-teen help, crisis, and support hotline for youth ages 10-24. Trained youth volunteers are available to talk, text, or chat with other teens who are struggling with anything—stress, relationships, sadness, school, family conflict, self-harm, substance use and suicide. No problem is too big or too small.  It’s safe, confidential, and anonymous. You don’t have to go through anything alone—there’s always someone ready to listen.

Kids Hurt Too Hawai‘i

Kids Hurt Too Hawai‘i provides grief and trauma support programs for children and teens who have lost a parent, caregiver, or loved one, or who are experiencing separation due to divorce, incarceration, or foster care. Through peer-support groups, mentorship, and healing activities, Kids Hurt Too creates a safe, compassionate space where young people can process their emotions, build resilience, and find hope for the future. Services are confidential, free or low-cost, and designed specifically for youth.

Good360

Good360 connects youth and families with donated essentials — from clothing to school supplies — especially during recovery from crisis. They work closely with community partners to meet real needs.

YMCA of Maui

The YMCA provides youth mentoring, leadership programs, safe after-school activities, and emotional wellness support. Their programs help teens stay active, connected, and confident.

Healing Aloha | Breath of Life: Self-Care supporting Collective Trauma

  

Healing Aloha is a Lāhainā grassroots initiative offering self-care tools to support healing from collective trauma. Through in-person experiences, an online symposium, and daily social media guidance, we help teens reconnect with themselves through breath awareness and sensory engagement. By integrating breath, sound, movement, light, water, grounding, visualization, and somatic practices, Healing Aloha offers natural ways to manage stress, feel more calm and grounded, and heal after hard experiences—helping youth reconnect with themselves and feel stronger.

MEO Youth Services

Maui Economic Opportunity (MEO) supports teens with leadership training, mentorship, transportation, and life-skills programs. They help teens stay on a positive path through guidance and support.

Maui Hero Project

Based out of Lahaina with possible pick up's available Upcountry, Maalaea, Kahului, Wailuku

The Maui Hero Project now in its 26th year is an 8-week, adventure, rite of passage program for youth ages 11–17. The program meets 2-days per week and focuses on disaster preparedness and jr. first responder skills such as search and rescue, lifeguarding, first aid and CPR, wilderness survival skills such as wild food foraging, archery, deer butchering, snorkeling/spearfishing, shelter building, fire making and fun challenges like waterfall hikes, canoe paddling and cliff jumps. Space is limited to 8 per group.

Interested in learning a trade or hands-on career? This program connects teens with skilled professionals in plumbing, electrical, construction, and more — offering mentorship and pathways to future jobs.

Mental Health America of Hawai‘i – Advocacy, Education & Support for Youth Mental Health

Mental Health America of Hawai‘i (MHAH) is one of the state’s leading mental health organizations, focused on promoting mental wellness through education, advocacy, and direct support. MHAH works to reduce stigma around mental health and empower youth and families to seek help early and often.

Their programs include youth suicide prevention, bullying and cyberbullying education, trauma-informed care, and mental health training for teens and adults. MHAH also offers resources for those navigating stress, grief, depression, or mental illness.

Restoring Harmony: The Origin and Mission of Hui Ho'omalu

Hui Ho'omalu began as an organized group of diverse entities united by a collective commitment to uplift Maui families and communities affected by the Maui wildfires through Native Hawaiian cultural healing practices. Founded on the principles of kūkākūkā ho'omalu and lomilomi, our organization comprises cultural practitioners from various islands and genealogies.

 

We have received support from multiple organizations to mobilize practitioners from across the pae 'āina. Driven by our enduring passion, we continue today to provide healing and wellness through traditional Hawaiian practices, remaining steadfast in our mission to support and rejuvenate the mind, body, and spirit of our community 'ohana.

Free Float Therapy for Maui Teens and Families

The Maui Calm Project offers free clinical floatation therapy to Maui residents, including teens, first responders, and wildfire survivors, to help reduce stress, anxiety, and PTSD. Led by neuropsychologist Dr. Justin Feinstein, this nonprofit initiative uses float therapy—where participants float effortlessly in Epsom salt-infused water—to promote deep relaxation and mental clarity. The therapy is scientifically proven to lower stress hormones, calm the nervous system, and improve emotional well-being.

Located at the new YMCA resource center in Lahaina, Maui Calm is committed to making mental health care accessible and stigma-free for the community.

Alateen – Teen Support for Families Affected by Alcoholism

 

Alateen is a confidential support group for teenagers (ages 13–18) who are struggling with a loved one’s alcohol use. It’s a safe place where teens can share experiences, find hope, and connect with others who understand what they’re going through. Whether you live with someone who struggles with alcohol or are affected by it in another way, you are not alone.
Alateen meetings are confidential, supportive, and free. Talking to others who "get it" can help you heal.
